Stronger by Choice: Designing the Year You Want to Live

How many times have you heard the phrase, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”? Sure, adversity can build strength—(believe me!)—but learning the hard way isn’t the only way. We can also get stronger in a more enjoyable way—by choosing something we care about and practicing it daily. And then repeating it until it becomes a strength.

Strength doesn’t only come from surviving the hard things. It also comes from doing the things that light us up.

Take Pilates, for example. Ten weeks ago, I went to my very first mat class. I disliked the discomfort of that initial hour, but I loved how I felt afterward. So I went back… and kept going back. Today, I can feel the difference—my core is stronger, my balance is better, and I’m reminded that consistent practice, even once a week, changes us.

So what about you? What do you want to get stronger at in 2026? Maybe it’s your writing, or becoming physically stronger, or maybe you want to become a more courageous communicator. Maybe you want to strengthen your leadership or live with more intention.

Whatever it is, strength grows where attention goes. And this year, you have two opportunities to build the practices that will shape a meaningful 2026.

First, on January 8th I’m offering a 2-hour visioning workshop to help you create your best year yet. You’ll learn how and why visualization works, explore ways to activate intention, and then roll up your sleeves to build your personal 2026 vision board. It’s creative, energizing, and clarifying—a beautiful way to start the year.

Second, our Conversations Worth Having course begins January 20th. Over four interactive weeks, you’ll learn practical tools to shift the tone and trajectory of conversations—so they become more positive, more productive, and far more effective. You’ll practice giving feedback in a way that strengthens connection rather than eroding it. Join me, and become a stronger communicator in every area of your life.

I hope you’ll participate in one or both of these opportunities. Let’s make 2026 a year shaped not by chance, but by choice.

Make your year better by design. Strengthen your intention, your conversations, and the practices that help you flourish.

Here’s to a powerful beginning!
